Meuneries Mondou Signs an Agreement With Nanolike Canada for 300 Feed Bins With BinConnect Technology

The French company Nanolike has opened a new entity in Montreal: Nanolike Canada Inc. This Canadian subsidiary just signed its first deal with Meuneries Mondou, a key player in the livestock feed industry in Quebec. The project consists of equipping 300 feed bins with BinConnect sensors to simplify producers’ daily lives.

Remote feed inventory management with bins 2.0

From the producer to the feed supplier, inventory management is a time-consuming but essential task. Besides, inventory management can be risky for the producer who must climb to the top of the bin to make a level estimation. To address this recurring problem, BinConnect (a non-intrusive fill level sensor developed by Nanolike) offers a complete solution to streamline feed inventory management and the ordering process through a web platform and a mobile app. Created in Europe more than four years ago in collaboration with feed suppliers, BinConnect meets the following requirements: a non-intrusive sensor mounted at ground level, a robust and easy-to-deploy solution, at the lowest possible total cost of ownership and requiring no maintenance or physical calibration.

Meuneries Mondou breaks new ground to widen its range of services while optimizing the use and supply of raw materials

The company decided to invest in equipping a first batch of 300 feed bins with BinConnect level sensors in order to ensure a continuous supply to its customers and to provide them with an ordering tool accessible in a few clicks from a smartphone. By using connected bins, producers no longer have to worry about inventory management or travel to different barns. Meanwhile, Meuneries Mondou is now able to unify and strengthen its feed inventory management. From now on, it is possible to gather the orders, optimize route plans and ensure that trucks are full and that the correct quantity of feed is delivered to the right bin at the right time. This enhanced management of delivery rounds also allows the company to reduce its carbon footprint by optimizing routes from one barn to another and, above all, to avoid urgent deliveries that impact both logistics and production.

By implementing this turnkey solution, the company also guarantees safer and more comfortable working conditions for its customers. Moreover, Meuneries Mondou can stand out from the competition through innovation and thus increase customer satisfaction and loyalty by providing simple and effective support, and can even offer new services such as stock management. Beyond the benefit of real-time visibility on all stocks for the producer and the feed mill, a four-day forecast is also provided and completed with an automatic alert system (by email or notification on a smartphone) when a bin is approaching empty. Therefore, it is now possible for the feed supplier to put an end to approximations when placing an order and to get rid of overestimations in the need of feed which are rerouted to the plant and which represent a significant loss of turnover for the company.

For Christian GONTHIER, VP Business development & Operations:

“Optimizing the logistics of bulk feed transportation is essential in order to remain competitive and to provide a practical and efficient solution to our customers. Over the past few years, we have been looking at the different technologies available to monitor bin levels for our customers. BinConnect is by far the one that best meets our needs: easy to install, user friendly and affordable. Furthermore, the Nanolike team represents exactly what we were looking for in our business partners. They are responsive and highly skilled, but above all, they share our values of respect and commitment to our customers and are always a pleasure to work with.”

According to Jean-Jacques BOIS the president of Nanolike Canada Inc.

“This new proof of confidence demonstrates once again that the use of bin data brings real added value to the feed industry and provides real convenience to the farmer. In fact, after only a few months of activity in North America, BinConnect has already proven its efficiency and has helped feed suppliers in different Canadian provinces. These first achievements confirm our strategy to develop Nanolike Canada Inc., a subsidiary based in Montreal, which will be at the core of our activities in Canada, but also in the United States. We are thus pleased to be able to begin this North American expansion here in Quebec and to support well-known feed suppliers such as Meuneries Mondou in their digital transformation.”
